Packaging line
Ready for pick-up. The various types of packaging conveyors transport the built product packs through the packaging machines and then to the manipulator or directly to the clamp-truck. The choice between the various systems depend on the product pack type and its packaging requirement.
Chain and roller conveyors are usually selected when the packs are already on shipping pallets. By having multiple conveyor drive setions it is possible to assemble packs together without gaps. Sections carrying up to 4 assembled packs can optimise clamp-truck efficiency. The choice between chain and roller conveyors is dependent on the orientation of the shipping pallet in transport direction. It is also possible to design-in right angle transport directions.
Slat conveyors are needed for the transport of block and paving stone packs witout shipping pallets. Our customers appreciate their robust design that offers protection against fork-truck damage. Their high load bearing ability also allows for stacked packs. Special slat profiles allow vertical strapping of the pack even when directly on the conveyor. The length of a conveyor can be up to about 30 m.
Walking beam conveyors offer similar possibilities, but offer an even higher load bearing ability for larger sized products.
Steel pallet circulation systems are the best choice when the packs product are packaged in sequence at different stations – a future proof solution. Before they are packaged the rigid pallets securely support the unsecured packs that were stacked on them by the cuber. The empty steel pallets can be returned at the same height on a parallel conveyor or at a lower level in the packaging conveyor to save space.
The pack transfer grab removes the product pack from the packaging conveyor and places it, closely spaced or with gaps, on the outfeed conveyor system. The grab can rotate so that the packs are in the correct orientation to be removed to stock and can handle different pack sizes. Packs can also be stacked on top of one another.
It is also possible to automatically buffer a full days production. REKERS can supply lorry or driverless systems. Manipulators for product packs with state-of-
the-art servo drive and control technology ensure that internal logistics are efficient and cost saving.
